Reflection

Before creating this ePortfolio, I did not put much effort into learning languages by using electronic devices. My language learning pattern is only limited to the traditional ways of reading paper-based books. Reading a physical book is not convenient because reading needs to have a suitable space and time. Besides, reading can only increase my vocabulary but there is no improvement in my listening or speaking skills. Thus, I have struggled to improve my language listening and speaking skills for a long time because I do not have an English language environment.

However, I have explored more e-learning methods by accepting this challenging ePortfolio making. I find that learning languages is interesting by using online resources. It expands the selection of resources when using technology. I can choose the topic that I am interested in and easily begin my learning and turn this into my habit. After using these three apps to enhance my language skill, I find that it is easier to keep up with the learning progress because time management is more flexible when using this way of learning languages. I have already gotten into the habit of listening to the podcast every day. My listening skills have a noticeable improvement. From the first experience, I need to listen to the single part a few times to understand the meaning. Until now, I can listen through the track smoothly by knowing the meaning once.

Using technology is a new trend nowadays since learners can access many free applications or interesting topics that they did not have suitable language learning resources before. Therefore, I will recommend others using these learning applications if they have the same learning objective as me. This learning pathway will be fun and exciting on the road to success in the IELTS test and Putonghua Proficiency Test.
